One of the supercomputers that have allowed us to model and predict climate change is the Earth Simular (ES) supercomputer in Yokahoma, Japan.  From 2002 to 2004, it was the fast computer in the world, capable of 35.86 trillion float point calculations per second (TFLOPS).  In 2004, it was replaced as the world’s fast computer by IBM’s Blue Gene\L supercomputer.  Such supercomputers have given us a new way to model and thus look at our world.
